You are designing a factory inventory platform. The factory gets parts from multiple suppliers, build products from them and ships them to the clients. The goal of the platform you are building is to help the factory manager ensure that their employees have all the parts they need and that all the products are ready for delivery on time, and to notify the factory manager if a problem occurs so they can take care of it beforehand.
User Goal: Make sure all the products get delivered on time.
Design the main inventory screen (of the factory products) and the flow of an alert about a missing part that is about to be delivered late to your factory from one of the suppliers.
Points to consider for inventory screen:
Where is this screen located in the system architecture?
How can we help the user to prevent problems?
How can we help the user to easily find a specific item?
Can we visualize items status and supply chain?
Each product is compiled from multiple parts that arrives from different suppliers?
Points to consider for the alert flow:
Where are we showing the alert?
What are the actions a user needs to take when getting an alert about such a delay?
Presentation: Present your research and thought process in any way that feels right for you. Competitors analysis, user flows and anything else you did to get to your solution.
